2008 record: Boys 2-4 Central California Conference; girls 2-4 CCC
Head coaches: Debbie Clemens (5th) and Kim Runyan (3rd)
Top runners: Kirk Renshaw, Dillion Tennision and Frank Finch for boys; Jenna Fontes, Morgan Renshaw and Vicky Alvarado for girls.
Outlook: Both squads, as expected, look to be extra competitive in league action this season. This looks like a real possibility, considering the amount of talent the Pride are adding to their lineup. They welcome a new group of male and female runners who finished 6-0 in the CCC in their respective levels last season and captured league titles. Renshaw, Tennision and Finch headline a boys team that wants to finish better than the 2-4 record the Pride had in 2008. The girls, who are led by Fontes, Renshaw and Alvarado, have the same aspiration.
Meet to watch: That’d be against Turlock, of course. The reason is simple — as the Pride would like to say they conquered their cross-town rivals, who are also looking to improve from last season.
