The Pride put their backfield on display again, with the usual suspects of Nathan Romo, Dominick Walker and Markus Sanders taking the majority of the hand-offs in Friday’s match up with Golden Valley.
Pitman put up 48 points in the first half, thanks in part to Hayden Baldwin’s 26-yard touchdown pass to Sanders and Walker’s 88-yard kickoff return for a TD. The Pride (5-4, 3-2 CCC) finished with 10 touchdowns, including Jonny Carrera returning a blocked punt for a score, and Baldwin finding Colton Risely for a 38-yard TD pass. Sanders had four scores, which were supported by Walker’s three TDs.
Friday’s game at Merced: It’s not ideal to end the season against the Bears (4-5, 4-1 CCC), but Pitman will have a running game that can be hard to stop. Sanders, Walker and Romo are the primary weapons in the backfield.
