Quarterback Robbie Smallwood led the Eagles offensive attack by running in a 47-yard touchdown in the first quarter and then throwing a 34-yard score to Geoffrey Retemeyer in Friday night’s game against Waterford. The second score gave the Eagles a 23-6 lead in the second, enough to hold on for the victory despite a Waterford rally toward the end of the game. But Turlock Christian pulled away thanks to a Nikko Jennings touchdown. The win gives the Eagles a 6-3 overall record, 2-2 in the Southern League, before the season finale against rival Denair.
Friday’s game against Denair at Livingston High: Smallwood will once again be an important part of the Eagles’ offense, along with Cody Alldrin and Jennings.
